Use the edge of the hole to tilt the Cyclops so it actually fits through the hole.Īlso, as for navigating this whole area, the secret is no lights, silent running, sonar, and patience. This is a tight fit but will put the Cyclops directly into the area with the Degasi base. First image is the hole (from the direction I'd recommend facing the Cyclops when you descend), the other two images are of the surroundings to help you try and find it. I didn't feel like making a beacon to mark it and I already got used to using option number four. However, it provides decent access to other parts of this cave system.īlood Kelp Trench entrance should be a good fit for Cyclops, but I've never actually tried it. Northern Blood Kelp entrances still contends with a ghostie between you and the Degasi base, but should be fairly hard to miss. You'll encounter more ghosties than any other entrance trying to reach the Degasi base. If you're just wanting to reach the Degasi base, the Mountain entrance is by far the most inconvenient. So to start with I know of 4 entrances to this cave system, one in each Blood Kelp Zone, the one you found in the Mountain biome, and one pretty much smack below the Floating Island. Im talking about where the 500m Degasi base is. Please, Im asking about the Deep GR, not just the Grand Reef-I have no problem there. Is there a way to access the DGR in your Cyclops. Is this a good idea for a place for a second base? There are sand sharks there but my Prawn will take care of them. Bulb Zone: The bulb zone gets put here purely for the biomes ambience. And of course there is the deep grand reef which is actually less scary because all of the anchor pods light the place up. I usually avoid the biome unless I have music on because of it. I found an opening near the mountain area (where the base the shoots ships out of this sky is). Grand Reef: The biomes ambience without the music is just terrifying for me personally. How do you guys maneuver in this biome? Im scared to ever go back. Im thinking this is no place to make a base. I was constantly fighting, swimming away in terror, repairing my cyclops, using first aid kits and getting stuck. There are ghosts leviathans, the shocking octopus under glass-thing, the warpers, the hypno-fish, etc. I tried for hours to find a way in with my Cyclops but couldn't find a way. So immediately I realized this was no place for the Prawn, so it never got used. I set out to explore and Deep Grand Reef (DGR) and perhaps set up a base in a spot I found earlier which I think is an opening into a deeper canal system.
